This wine is made up of 75% Grenache and 5% Carignan, harvested by hand, and 20% Syrah. The grapes are destemmed and crushed before being blended, with extraction by pigeage. They come from old vines, hence the name "les darons" which means "the fathers".

Tasting notes 

• Colour: To the eye, Les Darons has a deep colour with purple highlights.
• Nose: Notes of fruit yoghurt, with an airing of fruit (blueberry, plum, blackberry) and spices (cinnamon, white pepper). 
• Palate: Dense and silky, combining fullness and tension to reveal ripe tannins.
• Finish: Powerful, full-bodied, tasty, it will surprise you with its light notes of mint. 

A red wine to be served at 16-18°C, to accompany red and white meats, poultry dishes in sauce, sheep's cheese or chilli con carne.

It can be kept for 7 to 8 years.
